How I Closed 100% Of The Room From A 15-Minute Presentation

There Is Power In Speaking!

As a service professional that specializes in helping service professionals maximize profits, it is my firm belief that speaking should be part of your client attraction strategy.

One major benefit of sharing your expertise as a speaker in front of your targeted audience is that you greatly increase the “know, like and trust factor” faster.

Below I have provided a simple strategy I used to recently close 100% of the room from a 15-minute presentation.

To begin speaking, start by contacting your local chamber of commerce, applying to groups on, Google “Speaker Call” in your area, even host your own event(s).

In the beginning, with little to no experience, you may not be able to attract paid speaking opportunities. If this is the case no worries, you still have the ability to make money as a free speaker.

The first step is to present in such a powerful way that it leaves the attendees with a deep desire to work with you further.

Whenever I am given an opportunity to share my message I make it my mission to show up powerfully regardless of if it’s two or ten people in the room. Recently, I had an opportunity to speak in front of several mom-entrepreneurs. Due to an excellent 15-minute presentation, 100% of the ladies in the room purchased something from me. This was a free speaking opportunity and I walked away with more money than when I arrived.

I accomplished this by:

  1. Having Something To Sell – When given the opportunity to share your expertise, you must have something you can sell in the back of the room. For example, at the opportunity above, I offered my Say YES To Profits book and tickets to the Say YES To Profits Workshop. Due to the number of women that purchased a workshop ticket the event is now sold out!
  2. Be Capable Of Accepting Payments On The Spot – Be sure your business technology infrastructure is set-up to allow you to accept not only cash on the spot but e-checks and credit cards as well. Everyone does not carry cash, therefore there are several apps available that you can download on your phone or tablet that will allow you to NOT miss out on earning additional revenue. My personal recommendation is QuickBooks Payment.
  3. Ability To Capture Leads On The Spot – The purpose of speaking is to increase your lead funnel. Everyone may not be able to purchase from you at the time of your presentation, however, you should make sure that you “stay in touch”. You accomplish this by capturing their contact information and adding it to your CRM system and periodically provide additional value. Do this continuously and once they are ready you will be their “top of mind person”. To accomplish this you must have the ability to capture their name and email address at a minimum. Simple ways to do this is by announcing during your presentation that all attendees text their name and email address to a special number. Or perhaps, you can circulate a sign-up sheet or display a card drop bowl. In order to capture leads, it is my recommendation that you offer something free. For example, I offered the attendees a copy of my presentation, in addition to my free eBook.
